Whether you’re an early riser or a lover of the snooze button (me me that's me!), a morning skincare routine cannot be skipped. It will get your day going and prep your skin for what’s to come. If you’re a “wakeup and rely on the skincare you put on the night before” kinda girl (Hey, we’ve all been there!) then you’re not protecting your skin against the sun rays and possible pollution ahead of it. There could easily be twelve steps to the most effective morning skincare regimen, but let’s be real… nobody’s got time for that. Here are some of my never skip out on morning products:
Cleanser- A cleanser gets rid of dead skin, pollutants, oils, dirt, and bacteria. Plus it preps your skin to absorb the active ingredients in your other products.
Serum- Most of your active ingredients are in this step. Serums are formulated with a smaller molecular-weight , so they penetrate to deeper layers of the skin.
Moisturizer with Sunscreen- Moisturizers are there to hydrate and seal in hydration, which is why these formulas tend to be heavier than the layers that go underneath. Girl, do you want to look like a grape or a raisin??? You should wear sunscreen every single day...summer, fall, winter and spring to prevent UV damage, even if you don’t go outside.
Eye Cream- The area around our eyes is delicate and needs extra hydration to keep the area around your eyes tight and bright.
Face oil- Oils help trap moisture in your skin. You should think of face oils as a topcoat. It provides a protective barrier to help prevent moisture from evaporating. I like to mix a couple drops into my moisturizer.
